Faithful Companions

Who we are
Hope United Methodist Church was formed in March 2025, when two Bellevue congregations — First United Methodist and St. Peter’s — decided to become one church instead of two.
Both had been in this city a long time. Together we have more people, a better building, and the same work in front of us.
What we’re like
We are a mid-sized congregation, and most of us are over fifty. Some grew up Methodist. Some left church for thirty years and came back. Some are still deciding what they believe and come anyway.
Nobody here will ask you to sign anything or agree to a statement of belief.
What we care about
- Thinking honestly. Questions are welcome, including hard ones. You will not be handed easy answers here.
- Knowing each other. Most of what matters happens in small rooms during the week, not in the sanctuary on Sunday.
- Showing up for people. We cook meals for the Salvation Army, pack lunches for Bellevue students, and buy school supplies for families who need them. These are just a few of the ways we show up for the people in our community.
